CIMCO Tigers WIN Water Down Tournament

The Minor Peewee Tigers went to Water Down/Hamilton to play in a tournament this past weekend. They were looking forward to playing a full game and recording their first win this season, as their first 2 games were suspended due to rain, and time curfew (Tigers are winning both games and will be finished at a later date) The Tigers ripped through Woodstock 14-1 Friday afternoon and never looked back! Matthew Marsh recorded the win pitching 3 innings allowing no runs and striking out 6. The Tigers steam rolled Barrie and Waterloo Saturday.  Parker Burgess recorded the victory 9-3 against Barrie recording 4 strike outs and Cole Lester beat Waterloo 18-1 with a strong outing.  The boys ended the day in first place looking forward to play-off Sunday. Their first game against Bolton was their toughest of the weekend.  Cimco Tigers squeaked out a Victory 3-1 behind strong pitching from Ethan Nie, who recording the victory. Jack Ryan then took the ball in the 4th and held off surging Bolton for 2.2 innings. With 2 runners on base Matthew Marsh took the ball and secured the 4 out save. After this victory there was no stopping the Tigers.  They then beat North Toronto 10-8 with Felix Dubois, Cole Lester and Jack Ryan Securing the victory. In the finals Parker Burgess took the ball and shut down Burlington for 2 innings. The Tigers bats were on fire scoring 9 runs in the first two innings. In the 3rd a few miscues on defence allowed Burlington to get back in the game. Burgess battled and got out of the inning with the lead. Matthew Marsh took the ball in the 4th inning. Burlington was able to put a run on the board in the 5th. The Tigers bats responded with 1 of their own. The 2 run lead was enough for the Tigers and they won the game 10-8. The tigers went undefeated 6-0 to win the Tournament. Matthew Marsh was named MVP.
